Discuss the two modes of the vi editor in solaris.

Answer Posted / Mohit Anand

The Vi editor in Solaris has two modes: Command mode and Insert mode. In Command mode, you can navigate through the file, delete lines, yank (copy) text, etc. To enter Command mode, press ESC. To switch to Insert mode, press 'i' for insertion at the cursor position or 'a' for appending at the end of the line. To exit Vi and save changes, type `:wq`.
