Answer Posted / Jai Singh Yadav
Both Interfaces (IDocs) and XI (PI) are tools for exchanging data between different SAP systems or non-SAP applications. However, they have some key differences:n- IDocs are based on a file transfer mechanism (ABAP-based), while XI (PI) is web service based (Java-based).n- IDocs support limited communication protocols such as AS2 and FTP, whereas XI (PI) supports various communication protocols like HTTP(S), SMTP, and SOAP.n- IDocs are primarily used in SAP R/3 systems, while XI (PI) can be used across different SAP landscapes including SAP ERP, CRM, BW, and Hana.
