OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) protocol uses three main tables: the Routing Table, the Designated Router Table, and the Database. The Routing Table is used for forwarding IP packets, the Designated Router table keeps track of designated routers for each network segment, and the Database stores link-state advertisements (LSAs).
