What is the difference between tracert and traceroute?
Answer Posted / Digvijay Pratap Singh
Tracert and traceroute are both utilities used to trace the path a packet takes from the source to the destination. However, they work slightly differently: Tracert (Windows) uses ICMP ECHO requests and shows only active hops; traceroute (Unix/Linux) sends UDP packets to an unreachable port and shows both active and inactive hops.
