Differentiate between equipment master and material master. On what basis do we decide which one should we create?

Equipment Master (MM03) and Material Master (MM01) are two different types of objects in SAP PM. The main difference lies in their purpose:
1. Equipment Master is used to manage equipment or assets that require maintenance, such as machinery, tools, and vehicles. It contains information about the equipment's technical specifications, lifecycle, maintenance schedules, and costs.
2. Material Master is used to manage materials, such as raw materials, finished products, and consumables. It contains information about the material's properties, purchasing details, inventory levels, and costs.
To decide which one to create, you should consider the nature of the item in question. If it requires maintenance and has a lifecycle, then it should be an Equipment Master. Otherwise, it should be a Material Master.
