Stock Transport Orders (STO) in SAP PP are used to move goods within a plant or between plants, while Stock Transfer Orders (STO) are used to move goods from one inventory location to another within the same plant. The main difference is that Stock Transport Orders are part of production order processing, while Stock Transfer Orders are for material movement outside of production.
