To perform a system copy in SAP Basis, follow these steps:
1. Create a backup of the source system (transaction STCFC or transaction R3TRAN).
2. Start the system copy using transaction STMS -> System Copy.
3. Configure the target system, system details, and other settings as required.
4. Execute the system copy using the 'Start' button.
5. Monitor the system copy process using transaction STMS.
