An External Router is a device that connects an internal network to the Internet or another external network. Its components can include:n
1. WAN Interface Card (WIC): This component allows the router to connect to wide-area networks like DSL, cable modem, T1/T3 lines, etc.
2. Serial Interface: This provides a direct connection to other routers or switches via serial cables.
3. Border Gateway Protocol (BGP): This routing protocol enables communication between different autonomous systems (ASes) on the Internet.
4. Routing Table: A database that records routes between networks based on network addresses.
