Why denormalization is promoted in universe designing?

Denormalization is promoted in data warehouse design to improve query performance. By duplicating data from multiple tables into a single table, queries can be simplified and executed faster because they don't need to join multiple tables. However, denormalization increases the risk of data inconsistency if not properly managed.
