What is the main difference between schema in rdbms and schemas in datawarehouse?

Answer Posted / Rajdeep Gupta

The main difference between a schema in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and a schema in Data Warehousing lies in their structure and purpose. An RDBMS schema typically groups tables, views, indexes, and other database objects by application or project, providing a logical organization for related data. A Data Warehouse schema, specifically a Star Schema, organizes data into facts (measures) and dimensions (qualitative characteristics), optimizing the structure for querying and reporting.
