Answer Posted / Kamlesh Kumar Sharma

The steps involved in designing a fact table are:
1. Identify Facts: Determine the business facts that need to be measured and tracked over time.
2. Select Measures: Choose appropriate measures (aggregates) for each fact based on the business requirements.
3. Identify Dimensions: Associate each fact with relevant dimensions to provide context and allow for analysis.
4. Normalize Facts: Break down complex facts into multiple facts if necessary, ensuring they meet normalization guidelines.
5. Define Grain: Determine the smallest level of detail that the fact table will store data for each measure.
6. Define Business Key: Identify a unique identifier for each fact record within the fact table.
7. Create Fact Table Schema: Design the schema for the fact table based on the above steps.
