International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) is a unique identification number assigned to each subscriber of a GSM network. It consists of three parts: Mobile Network Code (MNC), Mobile Subscriber Identification Number (MSIN), and Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number (MSISDN). IMSI identifies the specific user in the home network and is used by the network to authenticate and authorize the user, as well as to bill for services.
