what is an ETL or ETT? And what are the different types?
Answer Posted / Amar
ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ETT (Extract, Transform, Transport) are data integration processes used to move data from various sources into a target system. While ETL permanently loads data into the target system, ETT moves data temporarily for further processing or analysis:
1. Type I ETL: Uses batch processing to extract, transform, and load data in bulk.
2. Type II ETL: Updates the target system by comparing source and target data and applying necessary changes.
3. Type III ETL: Continuously captures and processes data changes as they occur in real-time or near-real-time (streaming ETL).
4. ELT (Extract, Load, Transform): A variation of ETL where raw data is initially loaded into the target system without initial transformations, and then transformed later.
