What is the difference between the switch, hub, and router?

A switch operates at Layer 2 (Data Link Layer) of the OSI model, forwards data based on MAC addresses, creates a dedicated link between devices, and reduces collisions. A hub operates at Layer 1 (Physical Layer) of the OSI model, broadcasts all incoming packets to all connected devices, and does not create dedicated links. A router operates at Layer 3 (Network Layer) of the OSI model, forwards data based on IP addresses, performs routing decisions, and connects different networks.
