To find the average of two remaining numbers (A and E), we first need to determine the values of A, B, C, D, and E. Since the mean is -10, we have (A + B + C + D + E) / 5 = -10. Replacing B + C + D with 16, we get (A + E + 16) / 5 = -10. Multiplying both sides by 5, we obtain A + E + 16 = -50. Now, since the sum of three numbers is 16, we can rewrite this equation as A + E = -50 - 16 = -66. Therefore, the average of A and E is (A + E) / 2 = -66 / 2 = -33.
