A work is done by the people in 24 min. one of them can do this work a lonely in 40 min. how much time required to do the same work for the second person.

The second person will take 48 minutes to complete the work (1 worker's work time / number of workers = total work time; 24 min / 1 worker = total work time; since one worker takes 40 min, the other worker will take 40 min x 2 = 48 min).
