Megerging is a technique used in instrumentation to combine the signals from multiple transmitters or sensors, typically with similar ranges and calibration, into one common signal. This is done to reduce the number of signals that need to be processed or displayed, improve accuracy, or increase reliability by having a backup transmitter.
