To configure IT depreciation in SAP FI-CO (Financial Accounting and Controlling), the following steps can be followed:n
1. Define depreciation areas: Create a depreciation area for each group of fixed assets that will share the same depreciation rules.
2. Create asset groups: Group similar fixed assets together to apply consistent depreciation rules.
3. Define depreciation methods: Choose the appropriate depreciation method (e.g., straight-line, decreasing balance, or units of production) for each asset group.
4. Assign assets to asset groups: Assign each fixed asset to an appropriate asset group.
5. Define depreciation rates and periods: Set the depreciation rate and period for each asset group based on the chosen depreciation method and useful life of the assets.
6. Activate depreciation: Once all configurations have been completed, activate the depreciation process to start calculating depreciation expenses automatically.
