The Lilo (Linux Loader) bootloader was commonly used in older versions of Linux, such as Red Hat Linux 5.2 and earlier. The last version of Linux that supports Lilo is variable depending on the distribution, but Grub (GRand Unified Bootloader) has since replaced it as the default bootloader for most modern distributions.
