In Bank Reconciliation System (BRS), a Main Bank Account represents the primary account that holds all the financial transactions of an organization, while a Clearing Bank Account is used for reconciling differences between the bank statement and the organization's records.
Main Bank Account:
1. It contains all the debit and credit entries of the organization.
2. It serves as the base for reconciliation.
3. It shows the real-time account balance.
Clearing Bank Account:
1. It is used to track and resolve discrepancies between the bank statement and the organization's records.
2. Entries in the clearing bank account are temporary and are later moved to the main bank account after reconciliation.
3. It helps to identify errors, mispostings, or delays in posting transactions.
By maintaining both accounts separately, BRS can efficiently manage the accounting process, ensure accurate financial records, and prevent errors from affecting the organization's real-time balance.
