Antenna diversity is a technique used to improve the reliability and quality of wireless communication systems by using multiple antennas. It helps mitigate fading, multipath distortion, and interference issues that can occur in wireless environments. Here are some common types of antenna diversity:nn1) Space Diversity: Uses two or more antennas spaced apart to provide redundancy. When one antenna experiences a deep fade, the other antenna continues the communication.n2) Polarization Diversity: Utilizes antennas with orthogonal polarizations (horizontal and vertical, for example). This approach helps reduce fading caused by polarization-dependent propagation loss.n3) Frequency Diversity: Employs two or more antennas operating on different frequencies. The idea is that if one frequency encounters a deep fade, the other frequency continues communication.n4) Smart Antenna Diversity (MIMO): Uses multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver to exploit spatial diversity and multiplexing. MIMO systems can simultaneously transmit multiple data streams using spatial multiplexing or increase reliability by employing spatial diversity.
