explain which quantities change in the starting and the and the running condition in induction motor

Answer Posted / Usha Kumari

In an induction motor, several quantities change between starting and running conditions. These include: a) Current: Starting current is much higher than running current due to the use of a start capacitor or other methods to reduce motor resistance. b) Torque: Starting torque is lower than running torque because the rotor does not yet have synchronous speed, causing slippage. c) Speed: The motor starts at a slower speed (sub-synchronous) and gradually increases to its rated speed as it reaches running conditions.
