For a 1:5:8 concrete mix, for each part of cement (cement = 1), you'll need 5 parts of sand (sand = 5) and 8 parts of stone aggregate (stone aggregate = 8). The weight of these materials will vary based on their specific gravity. For instance, a common mix might be: 1 part cement (1000kg/m³), 5 parts sand (2400kg/m³), and 8 parts stone aggregate (2700kg/m³). To calculate the total weight of materials for a specific volume (e.g., 1 m³), you'll add their individual weights.
