What is meant by scales? Can scales be used in standard

by using scales we can fix the price of a material
accordingly, for example, we can fix the material price
based on the quantity like ,
for quantity 1 to 100 price is Rs1000,
for quantity 101 to 200 price is 900,
we can't use scales directly in po.we can pull it from
purchase info record to po.
