what is the name of turbine used in turbo of diesel engines?
Answer Posted / suhrid barai
Turbines used in a turbo diesel engine are of two types.
1. Non VGT Turbo charger
2. VGT Turbo charger
VGT- Variable Geometry Turbine Turbocharger.
Variable geometry turbine turbochargers have fixed blade turbine and another set of blades which is variable according to the flow of exhaust gasses.
Normally a Non VGT turbocharger (which is commonly used in Indian vehicles) they enhance the charging initially but gradually at higher speeds they become useless and kills the efficiency of the engine.
