What is the difference. between shearing and tearing
Answer Posted / sirohisakshi
Shearing- occurs when shear force is acting... which acts along the surface such that entire surface is affected by its action
While tearing is similar to paper tearing in which tensile force is acting which leads to tearing of paper from somewhere in the middle along the entire length... it can be seen when u hold a bread slice and apply force from ur hands from two opposite sides u will find the bread slice tears into 2 pieces.. this is tearing .
