One scenario where Tcp/ip will be needed is to send data from sap system to non sap system using FTP.

How do you send files to the legacy systems from SAP and vice versa? How does one know that the legacy files have come on to the SAP server you are working on?
There is a situation where there is a field "MATERIAL DESCRIPTION" in say 20 display only transaction. You want that whenever user opens any of these transaction, this particular field is masked with ****. But table does not holds ****. It holds the actual value. What are different ways of doing it?
