why dont call centers prefer engineering students?
Answer Posted / chandrakala
Depending upon the historical trends, it is a preconceived notion, in the HR personnel of BPO industry that, Engg. Graduates take up a Call Center job just to fulfill their day to day expenses and they keep trying to get into IT or software or their core field of expertise. So, they feel that an engg. grad is an unstable employee (who will leave, the moment, she / he gets a job in the industry of their interest) and an employee who doesn't put in the optimal efforts in the Call center job (e.g.: Process improvement efforts etc.). So they prefer other stream students to that of Engg. students.
