what is the difference in density of fresh concrete and
hardened concrete?
Answer Posted / shengjun zhou
I noted that most hardened concrete sample have some shortening by 0.5~1% during hardening process possibly especially for low strength concrete (<40 MPa) due to bleeding or plastic settlement. Such shortening would lead to an increased density in hardened concrete sample by similar amount or slightly less for high bleeding case.
