what diff. between
earth nd neutral?

Answer Posted / antu paul ekkan joseph

The value of potential(volts) for a balanced polyphase(eg. 3 phase system) is zero volts. But for unbalanced polyphase system the value depends on relative phase shift angle between phases. For single phase system neutral is the normal return path for the load current. But earth is supposed accidental bypassing path for the fault currents(eg. shortckt. current, leakage current, etc. etc..)It might be might not be a p.d b/w neutral and earth depends on the type of distribution system (single phase or poly phase),type of earthing system ie, TN,TNCS,TNS,IT,TT and its connections.
