Why is it that polarization index type test is required for
MV and HV motors and not for LV motors?
Answer Posted / kj
The polarisation index is used to check the insulation of
MV and HV motors because it is more accurate. Also it
allows a lower voltage than the working voltage of the
motor to be used. In LV motors the megger test is usually
twice the working voltage. If this was used on an 11kv
motor the megger would need to be 22kv.

Given a collection of points P in the plane, a 1-set is a point in P that can be separated from the rest by a line; i.e. the point lies on one side of the line while the others lie on the other side. The number of 1-sets of P is denoted by n1(P). The maximum value of n1(P) over all configurations P of 19 points in the plane is 18
