what is the basic difference between capacitor and condenser ?

I think question was asked for capacitor and sync. condenser.
both are used for improving power factor. sync.condenser mean the sync. motor running in overexcited mode (in dis state it provides leading current).
basic difference is Capacitor is static device and condenser is rotating device for P.F Improvement.
