What are the difference between Water fall model and V-
Model? Which one is better? Why 80% of Software companies
using Water fall model nowadays?
Answer Posted / vikas kumar
This statistics is actually incorrect. But not exactly 80% but if if think as per process advancement view,most of the company still following waterfall model.I can bet more then 40-50% testers are not aware about what model their project following.So I can say obviously effectiveness wise or cost wise V Model is best.But in most of the small projects company doesn't want to invest more on starting phase of testing(in V model).So they will let some BA level guy to understand the requirement and also prepare all test Plan/Strategy etc and once dev team will start developing application mean while they form a test team will give some KT on this application and starting execution part which is not as per quality means,but cost means.They don't want to form a test team while requirement analysis is going on and pay money to tester for seating idle.So they prefer Waterfall.Once everything is ready they can analyse requirement docs and test the application.
