why u go for aggregate? tell me one example?

INSTEAD OF SEARCHING WHOLE DATA(WHAT EVER THE MILLIONS OF RECORDS) FROM CUBE FOR CERTAIN DATA ACCORDING TO THE QUERY REQUIREMENT WE GO FOR AGGREGATES.
AND IT'S REDUCE THE NUMBER OF RECORDS WHICH USE AS A SAVING DATA WAREHOUSE SPACE.
AGGREGATES WOULD BE CREATED ACCORDING TO THE FREQUENTLY USING QUERIES.
AND DIS ADVANTAGE OF AGGREGATES :
IF WE MAINTAIN THE AGGREGATES WE WOULD HAVE THE SAME DATA ALSO IN INFO CUBE AS WELL AS AGGREGATES ITS LEADS TO MUCH OCCUPY THE DATABASE SPACE.
