A ceiling fan moves Counter clockwise & a pedestal fan
clockwise.....y the difference????

Answer Posted / raseelrasheed

ANSWER IS SIMPLE....FAN IS A SINGLE PHASE INDUCTION
MOTOR....EVERY MOTOR HAVE FIELD AND ARMATURE,FIELD AND
ARMATURE ARE OPPOSING IN NATURE,SO FIELD TEND TO ROTATE
CLOCKWISE WHERE ARMATURE TEND TO ROTATE IN ANTI-CLKWISE.

IN CEILING FAN FIELD IS TAKEN AS STATIONARY AND ARMATURE
ALOWED TO ROTATE,SO ITS ROTATION IN ANTI CLKWISE,HENCE LEAF
CONNECTED TO ARMATURE IT ROTATE IN ANTI-LOCKWISE.

WHERE IN PEDESTRAL FAN,ARMATURE IS TAKEN AS FIELD ROTATING
AND ARMATURE STATIONARY,HENCE LEAF CONNECTED TO FIELD IT
ROTATE IN CLOCKWISE.

How do i perform grounding of star point of Genset (400V) for making connection with step up transformer of DELTA-DELTA (400V to 20KV) ? while Genset itself has its own neutral and grounding bus bar inside genset breaker box whereas we have another neutral and grounding busbar in synchronizing panel next to genset at maximum distance of 6meter, would someone pls advice if we can only perform neutral grounding in synchronizing panel or should we ground neutral on both places inside genset breaker box and synchronizing panel.

I have a drawing of a wound rotor induction motor for a crane. This crane motor has 5 forward speeds & 5 reverse speed implemented of course with different amount of resistance for each speed setting selected. What has got me scratching around is the fact that 8 of the 10 speed selections switch in uneven (unbalanced) amounts of resistances on each of the 3 connections to the motor's rotor. Can this be possible? I would have assumed this would produce unbalanced rotor currents and therefore vibration in the motor. I would greatly appreciate anyone's comments on this. Many thanks, Confused.
