I have calculated load for an office building which is 1200
KW
as all the load is single phase therefore its 1200 kw single
phase. Now i have to design Transformer and Generator for
this load Please kindly give me exact answer that how much
capacity of Three Phase Transformer and Three Phase
Generator is required for this load.
Answer Posted / mayadhar81
1200 kw = 1200*1000 watt
that means 1200000 watt ok
In single Phase for example 1000 watt load, supply 230
volts,current is watts/volts
answer is 1000/230=4.34 amps ok
in 1200000 watts =4.34*1200=5208 amps ok
Per phase current=5208/3=1736 amp
three phase transformer/ generator=1736/1.392=1247 kva dg
or transformer is used for full load.
Then you have used 1500 kva dg or transformer
and put it 80% load.
