I am having a DG set.The 415 V from Generator is step up to
460 v and then the same is used for Induction furnace.
before Step up, I am connecting LT load to my factory use.
When Induction furnace is in service from DG, when i try to
start a motor, the generator is tripped. Please tell me the
reason.

Induction furnace controller is basically a rectifier cum
Inverter. Generally Rectifiers will generate Harmonics.
Suppose if the DG is not selected to accomodate this non
linear load then the sinusoidal wave form gets distorted
and will trip the DG set or other connected loads which
involves electronic circuitry. May be you can check
with an oscilloscope how the sinusoidal wave pattern
changes when Furnace is switched On. Suppose if the wave
form distortion does not happen then ther could be some
other reason
