Why water is not directly added to sulphuric acid for
dilution?
Answer Posted / harsh
Since, acid is more viscous than water if we add water to
acid mixing will not be proper & thereby heat dissipation
becomes difficult. The added water takes away the
dissipated heat rapidly forming steam & creating a Flashing
or Explosion. Therefore water shouldn't be added to acid
and acid should be added to water for the dilution purpose.
