what will happen if dc supply is given to ac motor?
Answer Posted / ajoy boishya
If dc current is supplied to ad motor then the ac motor will move in a to and fro motion the reason behind this is that ac motor has a pair of slip rings which don't change the direction of the current . Hence after on rotation the current through the solenoid will get reversed causing it to turn reverse.
