What is Firewall? I saw in one website Firewall is software
and hardware and combination of software and hardware.It is
used to protect user information or avoiding crackers.how
it is?Whether it is hardware?If not then why the images are
like that?(a wall ).Please help me by answering this

Firewall could be a Software application or an Hardware
Device. Software Firewall is installed on OS and Hardware
Firewall installed on the network connection. The main
purpose of Firewall is to block the traffic. It allows the
incoming and outgoing traffic based on the rules we create.
Firewall examines each and every packets and decide to allow
or block based on the rules. There are different types of
Firewall. Statefull, stateless and Deep Packet Filtering
which is called IDS(Intrusion Detection System).
