why can't we increase the voltage by increasing the field
voltage in order to get higher voltage.so that we can
eliminate step up transformer

Answer Posted / waqar ahmad

Every machine is designed for specific insulation level
against voltage level. So increasing voltage, insulation
can get puncture & as a result machine will get failure. so
voltage can't be increased from predefined / designed lavel.
