later the treasurer calculated that if the company had
purchased the machine and paid Rs.100/- monthly maintenance
charge, the company would have saved Rs.2000/-. What was the
purchase price of the machine?

per year=700*12=8400
then for 5 years=8400*5=42000
for maintanace rs 100 for 5 year=6000
=42000-6000-2000
=34000
