what is skin effect? why is it absentin dc system
Answer Posted / saravanan
In a solid conductor, as the radius increases the
resistance also increases to outer surface.Inner surface
has lower resistance than outer.since ac is fluctuating,
the current concentrates more on low resistance region
(inner).so that there is less current flow in outer
surface. This phenomenon is called skin effect.
