Answer number 6 above is the best answer.It encompasses the
answer from both fitter,machinist and boilermaker
perspectives.When drilling,you use a drilling jig for
repetitive and you use a fixture to hold the jig on the
drilling machine bed.When fabricating you use a jig to do
sub-assemblies.A fabricating jig can AT TIMES act as both
jig and fixture since you can both assemble and weld in the
jig
