why doctor prescribe antibiotics for viral infection instead
of antiviral drugs?
Answer Posted / ramya
generally doctors prescribe antibiotics with out any test...
because most infections may cured by antibiotics,of course
antibiotics are not effective on viral infections...anti
viral drugs are narrow in spectrum and have limited efficacy
and side effects are more compared to antibiotics, for
prevention of further growth they immediatly prescribe
antibiotics.........
after testing if it is viral infection they will
automatically prescribe antiviral drugs...........
