I guess the first answer of jitendra is the one
1. l3 switch :
Is the one which know where to route the packet , but don't
know to do additional feature or ooption. In simple word if
you are going to goa it says take this road you will reach
there.
2. Router:
Is the one which know where to route the packet and how to
route the packet. Have feature like nat, ttl decrementing,
divide broadcast domain, computing header checksum,
Multicasting of packet. In simple word if you are going to
goa it says take this road, take this train, you will reach
by this time and be well dressed.
