its because many factors responsible for this such as:
1. in farms the friction between soil and tyres is much
higher, the big tyres reduces sliding.
2. the weight of the tractor lies backside.
3. to make turning front tyre get easily turned.
4. it require maximum torque transmition.
5. larger the size of wheel reduces slipping because of
larger grooves.
