The LCM of two numbers is 24. The GCF is 4. One number is 4
more than the other. What are the numbers.
Answer Posted / abhishek alankar
We know, LCMxGCF=product of two numbers.If the given numbers be X & X +4,
we get from above,
X(X+4)=24x4=96=8x 12
or (X+12)(X-8)=0
Since X can not be a negative number, X=8.
Thus the given numbers are 8, 8+4
i.e. 8 & 12.
