How to calculate the cement, sand quantity for plastering?
(10'x10')10mm thick ratio 1:5. wht"s the formula?

Answer Posted / aijaz hussain, modi builders

Volume of Wet Mortar = 10 mm X 100 sft.

= 10/1000 X 100/10.76 = 0.093 cu.m.

Add 20% for depressions, joints and wastage
= 0.0186 + 0.093 = 0.112 cu.m.

Volume of Dry Mortar = 1.3 X 0.112 = 0.146 cu.m.= 5.154 cu.ft.

Cement required = 1/6 X 0.146 = 0.024 cu.m. = 0.7 Bag

Sand required = 5/6 X 0.146 = 0.122 cu.m. = 4.30 cu.ft.
