Assume X as father's Age Today. Y as Son's age today. Based on statement above:
X = 3Y
(X-8) = 5*(Y-8)
Substituting we get
(3Y-8) = 5*(Y-8)
3y = 5Y-40+8
3y = 5Y - 32
32 = 2y
y= 16
X= 3*16 = 48
